Mortensen led the Mean Moose to a 27-2 record in 2025 and they were the Class 3A state runners-up.

Three Alamosa volleyball players were named All-State. Laci Christensen and Aubrey Rothermich were both first team, and Ashlyn Rice was second team.

Five more San Luis Valley players earned All-State honors. The list includes Centauri’s Rylie McCarroll (Class 3A), Sanford’s Avery Koenig and Bella Peterson (Class 2A), Del Norte’s Addie Roepke (Class 2A) and Monte Vista’s Evie Hinds (Class 2A). All were honorable mention selections.
