Del Norte sweeps both home track meets

ALAMOSA – The Del Norte High School track and field program hosted the first of two home meets Saturday at the Tigers’ field with the home team sweeping both meets

Alamosa

The Alamosa boys finished in third place with 71 points. The Mean Moose had three individual champions in Timone Dolan who won the 100-meter dash in 11.68 seconds, Teddy Matson who won the 110-meter high hurdles in 17.91, and Adlai Gardner who won the 400 in 50.82. Gardner was also second in the 110 hurdles in 18.90.

Also scoring for the Mean Moose were Hoyt Johnson who was third in the pole vault at 9-7, Brandon Lewis who was fourth in the 400 in 56.96, Gabriel Mora who was fourth in the 100 in 12.04 and fourth in the 200 in  24.66, Cael Canaan who was fifth in the 800 in 2:16.84, Jesse Carbutt who tied for fifth in the pole vault at 7-7, Andy Hernandez who was fifth in the 1,600 in 5:44.43, Cody DiCamillo who was sixth in the 800 in 2:29.69, and Teddy Cody who was seventh in the shot put at 33-10 ¼.

The Alamosa girls finished in second place with 138 points and they had five champions. Brooklyn Boehm the shot put at 30-8, Sylvia Duagherty won the 400 in 59.40, Timay Garcia tied for first in the pole vault at 9-3, Brandi Garrison won the discus at 109-4, and ZaleBriel Smart won the 100 in 13.31.

Three of the champions also placed in another event. Boehm was third in the discus at 93-11, Daugherty was third in the 100 in 13.71, and Garrison was second in the shot put at 30-3.

Also placing for the Alamosa girls were Bella Hoover who was second in the 400 in 1:02.86 and fourth in the 100 in 13.76, Mariah Sheffield who was second in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 55.22 and sixth in the 100 hurdles in 21.61, Abbey Crowther who tied for third in the pole vault at 7-3, Kailynn King who was third in the 100 hurdles in 18:36, A’Jordanae Lewis who was third in the 400 in 1:03.06, Amelia Martinez who tied for third in the pole vault at 7-3, Shayla Maker who was fifth in the 800 in 3:03.20, Gizelle Meraz who was fifth in the discus at 92-10 and fifth in the shot put at 25-7, Leela Gutierrez who was sixth in the 100 in 13.90 and tied for sixth in the pole vault at 6-9, Emily Lopez who was seventh in the 1,600 in 8:11.07, Michaela Hazlett who was eighth in the 1,600 in 8:24.41, and Catherine Nolasco who was eighth in the 800 in 3:17.79.

The Alamosa girls also placed third in the 4x400 in 5:38.53.

Antonito

The Antonito boys tied for 12th with 12 points. The Trojans had one placer in Dean Garcia who was fourth in the 1,600 in 5:42.06, fourth in the 3,200 in 12:12.56 and seventh in the 400 in 1:02.23.

The Antonito girls took 11th place with nine points. Placing for the Trojans were Neveah Cuellar who was seventh in the long jump at 13-2, Abigail Gray who was seventh in the shot put at 24-7 ½, and Faith Medellin who was seventh in the, 400 in 1:12.04.

The Antonito girls were sixth in the 4x100 in 1:08.77.

Centauri

The Centauri boys were 11th with 13 points. Placing for the Falcons were Austin Norton who was second in the 300 hurdles in 50.25 and sixth in the 110 hurdles in 21.03, and Sage Harmsen who was seventh in the 110 hurdles in 21.81.

The Centauri girls were eighth with 26 points. The Falcons were led by Brooklyn Shawcroft who tied for third in the pole vault at 7-3 and was fifth in the triple jump at 29 5 ¼, Sienna Taylor who was fourth in the 1,600 in 7:28.28 and fourth in the triple jump at 29-11 ¾, and Kaylan Crowther who was eighth in the long jump. 12-4 ¾. The Centauri girls were fourth in the 4x100 in 1:01.26.

Centennial

The Centennial girls were 13th with three points. The rams’ only individual placer was Rowan Hubbard who was eighth in the 100 hurdles in 21.88.

The Centennial girls were seventh in the 4x100 in 1:14.48.

Centennial did not place in the boys meet.

Center

The Center boys placed fourth with 61 points. They were led by Yanixan Padilla who was second in the long jump at 19-3 ¾ and seventh in the 200 in 25.66, and Anjel Palma who was second in the triple jump at 38-1 ¾.

Also placing for the Vikings were Frankie Garcia who was fifth in the 100 in 12.05 and sixth in the 200 in 25.50, Jose Tomas-Lopez who was fifth in the discus at 103-5, Dahir Ornelas who was sixth in the 1,60 in 6:04.91 and eighth in the 400 in 1:02.47, Derriq Thompson who was sixth in the discus in 103-0, and Jayden Martinez who was eighth in the long jump at 15-8.

Center also took second in three boys relays including the 4x100 in 47.99, the 4x200 in 1:41.94, and the 4x800 in 11:20.23.

The Center girls finished in third place with 79 points. The Vikings had one champion in Oceana Garcia who won the 200 in 28.96. She was also second in the 100 in 13.60.

Other Center girls who placed were Maya Swanson who was third in the long jump at 14-4 ½, Charli Martinez who was fourth in the, 400 in 1:05.32, Eymy Bustillo who was sixth in the 200 in 32.02 and eighth in the 400 in 1:14.67, Nayeli Pablo who was sixth in the 800 in 3:08.44, Becklynn Bogner who was seventh in the 100 hurdles in 21.86, Alyciana Lujan who was seventh in the 200 in 32.11, Camila Miranda who was eighth in the discus at 72-2, and Landry Neufeld who was eighth in the 100 in 14.16.

The Center girls also won two relays including the 4x100 in 54.42, and the 4x200 in 1:52.89. They were also second in the 4x400 in 4:47.40, and the 4x800 in 13:37.19.

Creede

The Creede boys tied for seventh with 22 points. The Miners had one placer in Charlie Heinrich who won the 300 hurdles in 44.09 was third in the 110 hurdles in 19.11, was fifth in the 200 in 24.82 and seventh in the 100 in 12.34.

The Creede girls were 10th with 10 points and they too had one placer in Ava Mankowski who was fourth in the discus at 93-9 ½ and fourth in the shot put at 27-0.

Del Norte

The Del Norte boys scored 197 points and were led by Mads Kreutzer who won three events. He won the 800 in 2:09.90, the 1,600 in 4:56.43 and the 3,200 in 10:36.80.

Also winning championships were Brendan Hemmerling in the 200 in 23.64, Damon Ledford-Vigil in the pole vault at 15-3, and Calvin Quintana in the shot put at 41-9 ¾.

Hemmerling was also third in the long jump at 17 8 ½ and third in the triple jump at 37-10 ¼. Ledford-Vigil was also second in the 100 in 11.72 and second in the 400 in 52.47, and Quintana was also second in the discus at 119-9.

Also placing for the Tigers were Landon Crowder who was second in the 3,200 in 11:45.93, Corbin Horrocks who was second in the pole vault at 10-7, tied for third in the high jump at 5-0 and fifth in the 400 in 57.94, Cruz Matta who was second in the 800 in 2:10.64, second in the 1,600 in 5:24.32 and third in the 400 in 56.92, Zach Daniel who was third in the 300 hurdles in 52.71 and eighth in the 110 hurdles in 22.25, Jaxtin Lester who was third in the 800 in 2:11.32, Kife Mashburn who was fourth in the pole vault at 8-7, and Justin Ast who was eighth in the 1,600 in 6:17.69.

The Tigers also won three boys relays including the 4x200 in 1:36.64, the 4x400 in 4:00.85, and the 4x800 in 9:42.50. They were also in the 4x100 in 56.19.

The Del Norte girls scored 164 points and were led by Scarlett Maxwell who won three events. She won the 800 in 2:49.08 the 1,600 in 5:50.09 and the 3,200 in 12:58.17.

The Tigers won three more championships. Indie Howe won the 300 hurdles in 54.26, Madeline Mitchell tied for first in the pole vault at 9-3, and Taylor Off tied for first in the high jump at 4-10.

Howe also took fifth in the 100 hurdles in 20.01 and tied for sixth in the pole vault at 6-9.

Other Tigers who placed include Faith Crowder who was second in the 800 in 2:53.24 and second in the 3,200 in 14:47.98, Haedyn Graham who was second in the discus at 96-1 and third in the shot put at 27-1, Briana Kaufman Brigham who was second in the 1,600 in 6:36.72 and third in the 800 in 2:57.77, Ella Cowett who was third in the 1,600 in 6:57.35 and seventh in the 800 in 3:15.43, Emma Parra who was third in the triple jump at 29-11 ¾, and Makenzie Consaul who was sixth in the long jump at 13-3 and tied for sixth in the pole vault at 6-9.

The Del Norte girls also won two relays including the 4x400 in 4:38.40, and the 4x800 in 11:58.93. They were also second in the 4x100 in 56.45 and the 4x200 in 1:55.00.

Moffat

The Moffat boys took fifth place with 46 points. The Cowboys had five placers including Cashel Johnson who was second in the shot put at 39-0 ¼, Javad Taylor who was second in the 200 in 24.33, Tanner Shellabarger who tied for third in the high jump at 5-0, Chase Shellaberger who was fourth in the discus at 105-4 and fourth in the shot put at 38-3, and Shotaro Siago who was fourth in the 300 hurdles in 55.27 and fifth in the 110 hurdles in 20.39.

The Moffat boys also took third in the 4x100 in 50.06.

The Moffat girls were fourth with 45 points. Kandra Pollard won the long jump at 14-10 ¼, was second in the 200 in 29.24 fifth in the 100 in 13.86 and fifth in the 400 in 1:07.78. Shauna Pollard was fourth in the 200 in 30.75, fifth in the long jump at 13-3 ¼, sixth in the 400 in 1:10.45 and seventh in the 100 in 14.13. Zenna Hess was sixth in the 1,600 in 7:57.73.

Monte Vista

The Monte Vista boys tied for seventh with 22 points and they had four placers. John Jake Naranjo won the discus at 125-8 and was sixth in the shot put at 36-7 ¾, Mason Mondragon was fourth in the discus at 105-10, Evan Enderle was seventh in the triple jump at 28-4 ¼, and Ryson Mondragon was eighth in the triple jump at 19 8 ¼.

The Monte Vista girls were 14th with two points. The Pirates’ only placer was Annika Butero who was seventh in the discus at 73-6 ½.

Sanford

The Sanford boys were second with 84 points. The Mustangs had two champions in Kaulen Miller and Jayden Fairhurst who both tied for first in the high jump at 5-4.

Also placing for the Mustangs were Huntley Duran who was third in the 100 in 11.88 and third in the 200 in 24.34, Jono Peterson who was third in the 1,600 in 5:34.15 and eighth in the 800 in 2:36.18, Blake Miller who was fourth in the 110 hurdles in 19.44 and sixth in the 400 in 59.75, Kaden Cary who was fifth in the high jump at 4-10 and sixth in the 100 in 12.24, Clay Willet who was fifth in the triple jump at 33-11 ¼ and eighth in the 200 in 25.85, Ryan McCarroll who was sixth in the long jump at 15-10 ½, and Ryan Cordova who was seventh in the 800 in 2:35.85 and eighth in the 100 in 12.46.

The Sanford boys won the 4x100 in 47.16 and were third in the 4x200 in 1:44.19.

The Sanford girls were sixth with 32 points and had four placers. Bella Peterson was third in the 200 in 29.42, Pepper Larson was fourth in the 800 in 2:59.27, Kasey Gylling was fifth in the 200 in 31.09, and Natalya Madril was fifth in the 1,600 in 7:52.59.

The Mustangs were third in two girls relays including the 4x100 in 59.85, and the 4x200 in 1:57.97.

Sangre de Cristo

The Sangre de Cristo boys tied for ninth with 14 points. The Thunderbirds had three placers in Brody Artaechevarria who was fourth in the triple jump at 36-6 ½, Asher Allington who tied for fifth in the pole vault at 7-7, and Joe Brown who was fifth in the shot put at 37-0 ½ and seventh in the discus at 101-7.

The Sangre girls tied for 11th with nine points and had two placers in Taylor Freel who was sixth in the discus at 92-3 and sixth in the shot put at 25-0 ¼, and Rorie Tillman who was sixth in the triple jump at 26-2.

Sierra Grande

The Sierra Grande boys were sixth with 35 points and were led by Rolando Najera who won the long jump at 20 1 ¼ and the triple jump at 39-0 ½.

Also placing for the Panthers were Matthew Trujillo who was fourth in the long jump at 17 2 ¾, Daylan Santillano who was fifth in the long jump at 17-0 ¾, and Carlos Lopez who was eighth in the shot put at 33 9 ¾.

The Panthers were fourth in the boys 4x200 in 1:46.21.

The Sierra Grande girls placed ninth with 18 points. Placing for the Panthers were Eneria Quitnana who was second in the long jump at 14-9 and second in the triple jump at 31-5, Jillian Joos who was eighth in the shot put at 24-6 ½, and Ashly Rodriguez who was eighth in the 200 in 32.24.
