ALAMOSA — On April 10, Alamosa businessman Manish Patel was joined by city and county officials, family members, and many other well-wishers for a ceremonial groundbreaking for his new 90-room SpringHill Suites in downtown Alamosa.

The hotel is expected to create numerous job opportunities during its construction phase.

Once operational, it is expected to attract more visitors to the area, boosting local businesses and the overall economy. The increased foot traffic is anticipated to benefit existing businesses by creating more demand for their products and services.

Patel expressed his gratitude to the community, telling the Valley Courier, "This is a dream come true for me and my family. This project will be good for the community and important for downtown growth. I am proud of this community, and I like to be here and join this growth. This is work that has been going on for seven years and I am deeply grateful for the support from the city council, mayor, city manager, and others."

Alamosa Mayor Ty Coleman echoed that statement, "We are gathered today to officially break ground on a project that represents a significant investment in our downtown and in our future — the SpringHill Suites hotel. This moment is the culmination of hard work, vision, and collaboration, and I am especially proud to stand here with you all to witness this great event today.

"This hotel represents a major private investment in our community, demonstrating confidence in Alamosa's growth and Alamosa's potential."

Alamosa now has about 630 hotel-motel rooms, and the SpringHill brand, which is part of Marriott International, offers all-suite accommodations.

According to the hotelier, "Rooms are designed with a little extra room so you can indulge, relax, or get some work done."

SpringHill Suites has a proven track record of excellence, having been ranked third in Parent's Magazine's "10 Best Hotels for Families in 2015." This recognition is a testament to the quality and comfort you can expect when you stay with the Marriott brand.
