ALAMOSA — On Friday, Jan. 17, the Alamosa Police Department obtained a search warrant for 509 9th St. in regards to illegal drug activity. While executing the search warrant, eight people were contacted on the property.
Over the course of the last year, the Alamosa Police Department documented, while appying for the search warrant, numerous drug overdoses, alleged sexual assault reports, an unfounded report of a shooting, several code violations and several individuals being contacted leaving the above property and being found in the possession of illicit narcotics.
While searching the premises on Friday, detectives located suspected heroin along with items used to distribute and consume illicit narcotics within the residence and property. It was determined that only three of the eight people were actually living in the residence and the other five were located in an abandoned camper in the backyard.
During this operation, a female identified as Amanda Granados, 40, Manassa, was taken into custody. Granados was also listed as a missing person out of the Monte Vista Police Department. She also had a warrant out of the Alamosa Police Department for Shoplifting and another felony no bond warrant out of the Alamosa County Sheriff's Office for Controlled Substance Possession With Intent To Sell.
Granados was booked into the Alamosa County Jail on the above warrants and was charged with additional charges of Violation of Protection Order and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Alamosa Police Department will work alongside the City of Alamosa Municipal Court to move forward on a Criminal Nuisance Property and have already served code violations for trash and abandoned vehicles on the property.
