Conejos Peak Ranger District offering free transplant permits

The Conejos Peak Ranger District is currently offering temporary free-use live tree transplant permits for use through July 21. The permits allow individuals to remove up to four live trees up to 10 feet tall from the La Manga Creek gravel pit located 1.4 miles up Forest Service Road 114.

Public meeting scheduled for timber salvage projects on Conejos Peak Ranger District

The Rio Grande National Forest is inviting input on five proposed timber salvage projects on the Conejos Peak Ranger District. All five of the projects implement the previously approved CP District-Wide Salvage Project.
