Polis appoints Monte Vista resident to Colorado Food Systems Advisory Council

MONTE VISTA — This week, Governor Jared Polis announced the appointment of a Monte Vista's Cydne “Michelle” Bradford to serve on the Colorado Food Systems Advisory Council, an area of deep, personal interest to the San Luis Valley where the primary economic driver is agriculture.

The role of the Colorado Food Systems Advisory Council is to advance recommendations that strengthen healthy food access for all Coloradans through Colorado agriculture and local food systems and economies. It is the state conduit for hearing, reviewing and advancing critical food systems issues in which state government does or could play a role.

Bradford’s appointment was occasioned by the passing of her predecessor, Tonatiuh Diaz, also appointed by the governor’s office to serve on the council.

Bradford’s term on the Colorado Food Systems Advisory Council is set to expire on Oct. 21, 2025.
