Del Norte resident William “Will” John Henninger, 80, died Jan. 27, 2022, at his home in Del Norte, surrounded by family and under hospice care.
Will’s life began in Chicago, Illinois on July 15, 1941, the proud son of Reed Henninger and Alice Rose Henninger.
Will earned his master's degree in Philosophy and later earned his Juris Doctorate degree in Law. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles and remote mountain adventures. He was a collector of things. Will enjoyed woodcutting and wood gathering. He was a man of philosophical thought and enjoyed intellectual discourse. He explored many spiritual paths to find his own unique way to God and self-reflection.
Will is survived by his daughter Sita Brandon of Lafayette, Colo.; his grandchildren Sage Brandon and Forrest Henninger; as well as the mother of his children Serena Clark-Henninger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Merry Henninger and his son William “Billy” Henninger, II.
A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. all at the New Life Fellowship Church in Del Norte, Colo. Interment will follow services in the San Luis Valley Cemetery in Monte Vista. Contributions in his memory are suggested to the New Life Fellowship Church, 520 7th St. Del Norte, CO 81132.
