Stephen Lee Blount died at his home in Del Norte under hospice care on Dec. 18, 2024. He was born in Charleston, S.C., on Oct. 1, 1952, to Herbert and Phyllis (Snyder) Blount.
He lived in many places during his youth but spent his adolescent and young adult years in Auburn Kan., where he met his wife of 50 years, Paula (Courts) Blount.
He is survived by his wife Paula Blount of Del Norte, Colo., daughter Kate Blount, son Henry Lee (Jamie) Blount, granddaughters Mayleigh and Ayla, and son William Blount all of Monte Vista, Colo.; his brothers Terry and Tim Blount of Topeka, Kan.; his mother-in-law Iola Courts of Monte Vista, Colo. As well as numerous nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Phyllis Blount, his sister Linda Blount Uehling, and his father-in-law James Courts.
Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and dogs.
Cremation has been chosen, and a private service will be held at a later time.
