Larry Holder Golf Tournament raises $25,000

MONTE VISTA – The Eighth Annual Larry Holder Golf Tournament took place Saturday at the Monte Vista Golf Course.

The event was held for the SLV Health Foundation and the Larry Holder Cancer Survivorship Exercise Program. It also took place in conjunction with Adams State University.

There were 40 two-man teams that entered the tournament.

The first nine holes were played as golf with a twist. It played with frisbees, tennis balls and other different varieties on each hole.

After a meal following the front nine, the back nine was played for the most part after sunset and it was played with a glowball.

The first golfers teed off at 5:15 p.m. It ended at 12:30 a.m.

The tournament raised $25,000 for the foundation.

The tournament was won by Luke Porter and Colin Nelson. Anfernee Romero and Keith Romero were second and Eddie Maestas and Dillon Martinez were third.
