COSTILLA COUNTY — An investigation is ongoing after a police chase and the discovery of a property with several reportedly stolen items was made by Costilla County Sheriff’s deputies as well as several other law enforcement agencies last week.
According to a press release issued by the CCSO, deputies Thursday, Oct. 20, responded to a property located off County Road J 2 southwest of San Luis on Thursday in regards to a possible stolen vehicle out of Taos County.
The driver led deputies on a pursuit across the Colorado-New Mexico state line, along with law enforcement officials of the Taos County Sheriff’s Office. While in pursuit, another reportedly stolen vehicle was identified on Garcia Road just south of Garcia, Colo.
On Friday, the release said, a search warrant was executed at the property located off CRJ 2. Deputies found several vehicles, trailers and items that were said to be stolen.
The estimated value of the items, according to the release, is between $100,00 and $150,000.
The warrant was executed by the CCSO, TCSO, Blanca Police Department, Conejos County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado Division of Wildlife.
The investigation is ongoing.
