ALAMOSA – The Colorado High School Activities Association posted its preseason basketball polls earlier this week.

The polls are on the CHSAANow.com web site.

The boys poll was released on Tuesday. Centauri is ranked 10th in Class 3A, while Sanford is fourth in Class 2A.

Local teams listed as “also receiving votes”include Sangre de Cristo and Sierra Grande in Class 1A, and Alamosa in Class 4A.

The girls poll was posted on Wednesday. Centauri is the second-ranked team in Class 3A, and Sanford is tied for seventh in Class 2A.

SLV teams mentioned as “also receiving votes” include Sierra Grande in Class 1A, Center, Del Norte and Sargent in Class 2A, and Alamosa in Class 4A.

The San Luis Valley basketball season begins on Dec. 2.
