A large barn burnt to the ground around 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 29, just north of Highway 160 and the intersection of County Road 103. Incident Commander Capt. Zach Cerny with the Alamosa Fire Department said there were no initial reports of animals lost or any injuries to firefighters from DFPC and the Alamosa Fire Department. The building was a total loss according to Capt. Cerny. The Monte Vista Fire Department provided mutual aid assistance on the incident.
