ALAMOSA – The Adams State University School of Visual and Performing Arts and the Department of Music will host the Pikes Peak Brass Band at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, in Richardson Hall Auditorium.
The Pikes Peak Brass Band, an elite 33-member ensemble in the classic British brass band tradition, is based in Colorado Springs. According to pikespeakbrassband.com, this group will electrify audiences in educational and public settings and promote excellence in music.
The band members come from a variety of occupations, including military, business, IT, medical and educational professions. Some commute to weekly rehearsals from as far as Woodland Park, Denver, and Pueblo.
“I am truly excited to welcome this fantastic group to campus to perform for our students and our local community,” said James M. Lind, D.M.A., Adams State director of bands. “You will experience music like you have never experienced before. Come join us for an evening of brass band music.”
