ALAMOSA — John David Sanford, 88, passed away from natural causes, Dec. 20, 2022, at Homelake Veterans Center, Monte Vista, Colo., with family members in attendance. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 25, 1934.

Staff Sgt. Bobby Lee Mahannah, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family at the Veterans Community Living Center at Homelake in Monte Vista, Colo., on Dec. 29, 2022. Bobby was a decorated veteran who served in the Vietnam War and retired from the United States Army with 20 years of service.

Kathrine was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend as well as a fierce advocate for animals and had a devoted love for Jesus. Kathy went to her forever home with Jesus on Dec. 14 of 2022; her loving children, Angela and Jason Boylen by her side.

Jean Ann Consaul (Meyer), age 39, of Center, Colo., passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2022.

Passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 30, 2022. Debi was with her husband of 50 years, Jess.

DODGE CITY — Linda Sue (Drake) Hessman, 76, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, at Penrose-Saint Francis Hospital, Colorado Springs, Colo.

Monte Vista resident Beulah (Boots) Ann Rogers, 88, passed away on December 7, 2022. She was born on March 13, 1934 in Denver, Colo. She was raised by Otto and Hattie May (Cole) Terry.

South Fork resident Loretta Irene Ehardt, 80, passed away on Dec. 10, 2022. She was born on Feb. 28, 1942, in Biloxi, Miss., to Harry Crews and Ida Osborne. Loretta was raised by her grandmother in Colorado Springs and graduated from William Palmer High School in 1960.

Wayne Lee Wedel, 71, passed away at his home in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Nov. 22, 2022. He was born in Dodge City, Kan., on Feb. 18, 1951, to Lacy and Viola Wedel. He grew up in Kansas where he learned to be a farmer, just like his father. He found that farming was where his heart was.

Georgia Phyllis Rea, age 94, of Colorado Springs, Colo., passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Nov. 26, 2022, in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Robert H. Parker was born June 7, 1954, in Taos, N.M. His parents were Richard H. Parker and Betty B. Parker. He graduated from Center High School in 1972.

Donald Eugene Collins died on Nov. 30, 2022, at age 85, after a gradual decline following challenges with chronic kidney disease. Don was born in Del Norte, Colo., on April 11, 1937, and was the son of Thomas (T.A.) Collins and Loretta (Mabry) Collins, and grew up in Monte Vista, Colo. Don was class president at Monte Vista High School, where he met his future wife, Edith McFadden.
