Priscilla Eunice (Valdez) Aguirre, 82, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on October 22, 2025 at St. Anthony’s Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. Priscilla’s warm presence and laughter will be dearly missed by all her family and loved ones. 

Donald ‘Don’ Andrew Martinez, 52, former resident of Monte Vista, Colorado, passed away September 14, 2025, with his loving family by his side, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Don was a resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming, at the time of this death. 

Wanda’s life was full of magic, laughter, adventure, love, and simple happiness. Her garden was her temple. She loved to travel and had many adventures in many countries all over the world. She was friends with anyone she met and laughed every day with them.

Alexander Alan Carson (known as Sandy, Al, and Pops) died peacefully on August 23 in Edmonds, Washington.  Born in Del Norte, Colorado on September 24, 1931, to Sabina and Maurice Carson, he was their only child. After growing up in Del Norte, he attended Adam State College and served in the Air Force.

Marilyn June Van Treese, 92, passed away on September 9, 2025, in Monte Vista, Colorado. Born on May 16, 1933, in Arriba, Colorado, to Guy and Anna Pickett, Marilyn's life was a tapestry of dedication to her family, her faith, and the simple joys that knit the fabric of a life well-lived. 

Milton F. "Milt" Trosper, Jr., a man of deep faith and intellect, passed away at the age of 77 on August 14, 2025, in Sun City West, Arizona. Born on June 2, 1948, in Monte Vista, Colorado, Milt led a life characterized by commitment to his family, unwavering faith, and a passion for learning and imparting knowledge.

Arnold Paul Trujillo was welcomed to the House of God on July 27, 2025. Arnold, 74, is survived by his high school sweetheart, Violet Trujillo, his daughters, Shalene Trujillo, Heather Romero (Alfred Romero Jr.), and his granddaughters, Keleraini Trujillo-Valdez and Gabriella Acevedo-Trujillo (Andres Garcia Jr.). 

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jodella "Jody" Holt, 67, of Liberal, Kan., and Creede, Colo., who departed peacefully from this world on July 24, 2025. Jody spent her last days in her Dream Home nestled within the mountains of Colorado, surrounded by her immediate family. Born on Oct. 14, 1957, in Perryton, Texas, Jody was a cherished presence in the lives of those who knew her. 

In the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 29, 2025, the Lord called Jeanette S. Davis home who was 90 years old. Born in Griffin, Ga., to the late John Mack Stiles and Delila DeMoss Stiles, Jeanette lived a life marked by fierce ambition, boundless love, and an unforgettable spark. 

Burdette Knous left for heaven from her Creede, Colo., home at the age of 92 on July 14, 2025.  Burdette was born in 1933, to a family in Missouri. After her mother passed, her three eldest siblings were adopted by one family, and Burdette and her older sister Judy were adopted by Lena and Roy Graham in Columbus, Indiana. The Grahams gave the girls happy, wholesome childhoods full of vanilla ice cream cones and down-home Christian love.  

Mary Virginia Olivas, 73, passed away peacefully at home on Feb. 24, 2025. Virginia and Manuel J Olivas, were happily married for over 38 years.

Robert W Naudack passes away on June 3, 2025, at the age of 95 in Denver, Colo.  Robert was born in Alamosa, Colo., on Dec. 24, 1929, to Robert (Doc) Naudack and Eunice Barnes. 

Dale passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, surrounded by his family at his mountain home near Del Norte, Colo. 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Willard Lawton, a cherished member of our community, who departed this life on May 24, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on Dec. 16, 1953, in Monte Vista, Colo., Steve spent his entire life in the San Luis Valley, a place he truly loved. 

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Evelyn Farish, who departed this life peacefully with her family at her side on May 27, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on Dec. 2, 1942, in Pulaski, Tenn., Evelyn was a cherished resident of Monte Vista, Colo. She is survived by her beloved husband, Eugene Lee Farish, whom she married on June 29, 1996.
