DEL NORTE— Rio Grande Hospital’s (RGH) only annual fundraiser, Keeping the Dream Alive, is scheduled for Aug. 10.
Tickets are $12, which includes an always-delicious dinner by Mountain View Restaurant. The event takes place at Del Norte School’s Bus Garage at 1055 French St.
Besides the great meal, come out and be served by their hospital’s physicians and health care providers. This fun, community-focused event is a great way to get together and support the hospital in a fun way. The auction follows the meal with great items like tickets, plane rides, gift certificates, and more.
This year will be the 13th annual event. Thanks to support from the community and sponsors, donations over the past years have helped raise funds to assist in their expansion and renovations. RGH now has a wound care department and hyperbaric chamber (the only one in the area), a new physical therapy area in Del Norte and a new one being created in Monte Vista, expanded and more secure the emergency department, as well cardiac rehabilitation coming soon to Del Norte.
Additionally, Rio Grande Hospital has been reaching out and holding community forums to better understand the healthcare needs of the western San Luis Valley communities and recently began a medication-assisted treatment program.
Donations go directly to improving the healthcare and quality of life of local communities, so come out and have some fun and support the local hospital!
