Rocky Mountain Region postpones application period

COLORADO— The Rocky Mountain Region of the USDA Forest Service announced the postponement of the application period for over 900 temporary jobs scheduled to open in USAJOBS on Sept. 15.
“Due to a system outage with our online application system, the application period has been postponed,” said Regional Press Officer Lawrence Lujan. “Once the system is restored, information will be shared regarding updated application timelines,” added Lujan.
The outage will not affect the availability of jobs or job seekers’ opportunities to apply. Once the application system is restored, job seekers interested in applying for fire positions will have 30 days to apply, and job seekers interested in resource and administrative positions will have 14 days to apply.
Over 900 temporary positions are available for the 2019 field season throughout national forests and grasslands in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming. Temporary jobs are available in a variety of exciting and rewarding occupations such as fire, trails, forestry, engineering, wildlife, recreation, fisheries, archaeology and administrative support.
Temporary job opportunities are searchable online at www.fs.usda.gov/detail/r2/jobs.
