MVPD arrests two men on drug, gun and parole violations

MONTE VISTA — Two men were arrested on drug, gun, and parole violations after search warrants were served Monday, Nov. 29, the Monte Vista Police Department reported.  

On Nov. 29, officers with MVPD served a search warrant at 657 Jackson Street for the arrest of Blas Villa, 38, of Monte Vista, who was wanted for absconding from parole and had an active arrest warrant for domestic violence.  

Villa was located within a camper trailer on the property and refused to come out, MVPD reported. Villa eventually emerged and was arrested.  

Villa had been sought for several months and was actively being pursued by law enforcement, MVPD reported. He was booked into the Rio Grande County Jail.  

While serving the search warrant, officers encountered Titus Naranjo, 28, of Monte Vista. Naranjo had a loaded handgun and methamphetamine, MVPD reported. He was arrested and charged with suspicion of being a felon in possession of a weapon, possession of methamphetamine, and special offender due to his criminal history. He was booked into the Rio Grande County Jail.  

Officers also seized two vehicles and pursuant to additional search warrants, located additional drugs within the vehicles, MVPD reported.  

The Monte Vista Police Department was assisted by the Colorado State Patrol on these arrests.
