On Thursday, March 1, Monte Vista Middle School was recognized by the Colorado Department of Education as a “Center Of Excellence.” This is the first award of its kind for the school and the district and is an indication of the great strides made recently by the staff and students. “We hope it is a pattern of things to come! We congratulate all of the students and the staff at Monte Vista Middle School for performing so well ‘against the odds!’” Board Vice-President David Reschke accompanied MVMS Principal Tom Tichy and Superintendent Robert Webb to the awards ceremony.
