Drum majors Matyson Jones and Angelo Rodriguez stand behind their bands hard-earned 1A second place trophy for the CBA State Marching Band Championship while holding the band’s finalist banner. 

Monte Vista High School Pirate Marching Band placed second in state after performing in the CBA State Marching Band 1A Championships at CSU-Pueblo Thunderbowl Stadium on Monday, Oct. 29. The Pirates went into the semi-finals behind Bayfield HS and Estes Park HS. Their semi-final performance that afternoon put them into the finals later that night where the MVHS Pirate Marching Band overtook Bayfield HS and brought home second place. Pictured, the band members are all smiles after receiving their 1A second place trophy.
