Monte Vista Police Report for Sept 23 to Oct 3

EDITORS NOTE: The following names and incidents listed were reported in the Monte Vista Police Department’s “Bulletin Report.” Persons should be presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Sept. 23
There was a report of a wallet found on the 100 block of Washington Street

Sept. 29
Officers were advised of a cold burglary in the 400 block of Calle Unida. The suspect, PACHECO-LAURO, PEDRO (29) has been identified and arrested for the crime.

Sept. 30
Officers responded to the 600 block of South Broadway for an Ambulance assist.
MVPD took a walk-in harassment report at the PD.
MVPD responded to suspicious party’s at the address of 257 Dennis St. This case further investigation.
MVPD responded to 358 Jackson Street for a broken car window. Individuals decided to take care of damages civilly.

Oct. 1
There was report of marijuana visible and unsecured on the 10 block of Meadow Lane.
Two Juveniles were issued a summons for municipal Harassment.
Report of a stolen vehicle in the 1200 block of Park Avenue Vehicle was later recovered.
There was report of a shoplifting on the 1300 block of Grand Avenue No charges were filed. Ms. Rose Atencio, 56, of Monte Vista, was issued a trespass notice from the location.
MVPD took a report of stolen items from a vehicle at the 400 block of Jackson Street.

Oct. 2
Matthew Marquez age 30 of Monte Vista was arrested for 2 active traffic warrants for his arrest.
There was report of a person being attacked on the 600 block of 1st Avenue
Joseph Horner, 38 of La Jara, was charged with “Felony Menacing,” “Resisting Arrest,” and “Obstructing a Peace Officer.” Ms. Jaime Stephens, 42, of Monte Vista, was charged with “Unlawful Possession of a Schedule II Substance,” “Assault on a Peace Officer,” “Resisting Arrest,” and “Obstructing a Peace Officer.”
Perdo Portillo 26 of Center was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
MVPD responded to a shoplifting at Family Dollar (1369 Hwy 160). Dinae LeBlanc (31) of Monte Vista was arrested on an arrest warrant out of RGSO.

Oct. 3
Report of missing property 600 block of Adams Street.
Steven Duran 26 San Luis, arrested on felony warrant 300 block of Monroe St.
Meghann Reynolds age 24 of South Fork and Shabrea Lindsay-Sanders age 28, of Pueblo where issued a summons for shoplifting in the 1200 block of 2nd Avenue.
Cosme Javalera-Heredia age 69, of Monte Vista was arrested for DUI, and Improper Use of a Turn Signal, in the 700 block of Jackson Street.
Angelica Salazar age 38, of Monte Vista was arrested on a warrant out of Rio Grande County, in the 1700 block of 6th Avenue.
Officers responded to the area of Grand Avenue and North Henderson Road for a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was located and returned to his mother.
John Beard, 38 of Monte Vista, updated his sex offender registration.


Oct. 4
Officers responded to the 200 block of Susan Place for a cold burglary.

Oct. 5
Officers responded to a Domestic Violence in progress in the 100 block of Faraday Street. The male suspect, Santiago Armenta, 27 of Monte Vista was taken into custody.
There was a report of a Theft in the 300 Block of Davis Street.
Gas skip 1300 Block of Grande Avenue
There was a report of a civil standby in the 300 block of Batterson Street.
There was a report of harassment in the 100 block of first street.
There was a report of a juvenile problem, in the 700 block of South Broadway.

Oct. 6
Officers received a referral from Rio Grande County DSS.
MVPD units took a report of trespassing from Family Dollar.

Oct. 7
There was report of a theft on the 100 block of Chico Camino.
MVP responded to Alta Convenience (605 1st Ave.) for a shoplifting. Juvenile was issued summons.
Antoinette Sanchez 25, of Center was charged with Poss. of Controlled Substance, Poss. of Controlled Substance over 2 grams, and Unlawful Distribution. Daimon Naranjo 22 of Monte Vista, was charged with Poss. of Controlled Substance.

Oct. 8
MVPD responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of Stallo St. Fernando Gallegos (28)of Monte Vista was transported to Detox. No Charges.
Officers responded to 2100 block of East Drive, for a welfare check on a male party.

Oct. 9
Traffic accident 6th Avenue and Madison Street.
Paul Espinoza, 66 of Monte Vista was cited for Following Too Closely following a traffic accident.
