March 24
Found property in the 100 block of Washington Street. Report taken.
Monte Vista police officers responded to the 1300 block of US Hwy 160 regarding a shoplifting.
MVPD responded to 582 Madison St.; Jesus Marquez, 27, was arrested on four warrants out of Rio Grande County Sheriff’s Office.
Elderly male party found unresponsive in the Safeway parking lot at approximately 9:36 p.m. Male party was transported to Alamosa hospital by EMS.
Monte Vista police officers were dispatched to the 500 block of 4th St. regarding suspected child abuse.

March 25
Found property turned into MVPD in the 1100 block of Park Avenue. Report taken.
Gabriela Nevarez, 31, Monte Vista, was taken into custody for a felony warrant.
Andrew Gallegos, 43, Monte Vista, was issued a summons for “Driving While Habitual Traffic Offender,” “Failed to provide proof of insurance” and “Disregarded Stop Sign.”
MV PD responded to Bill Metz to take a report of a male child who touched a female child’s butt in class. Information Report taken

March 26
A report of a cold assault in the 400 block of Jackson Street. Waiver of prosecution signed.
Code violation on Martha Stree— vehicle towed.
Damian Delgado, 22, was summonsed for Shoplifting from Rio Bravo Liquor and Disorderly Conduct in the 200 block of Clearview Drive. He was transported to Crossroads Turning Points.
Michael Guttierrez, 39, Monte Vista was arrested and charged with DUI, DUI Per Se, No Seat-belt and Failure to Signal.
An unoccupied residence in the 200 block of Madison Street was burglarized. The suspect vehicle was described as a 1990s Ford Explorer, maroon in color.
At approximately 10 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Jackson Street for a report of a male party following his wife and mother. The male party was later taken to Detox and referred to mental health services.

March 27
Joshua Nyquist, 23, Monte Vista arrested on charges of theft, forgery, identity theft and
criminal possession of a financial transaction device. Nyquist was referred to lead.
Johnny Salazar, 26, Monte Vista, received a citation for driving under restraint, in the 1500 block of Grand Ave.
MV PD took a report of a found credit card in Safeway parking lot. Property was returned to owner.

March 28
Edward Quirova, a 69-year-old male of Monte Vista, was arrested for a warrant out of Monte Vista Police Department. This occurred in the 500 block of Madison St.
Albert Martinez, 71, Monte Vista, was issued a summons for Driving Under Restraint, Operated an uninsured motor vehicle on a public roadway and displayed expired number plates in the 600 block of Tyndal Street.
Jennifer Vigil, 36, Monte Vista, was arrested in the 600 Block of Tyndall on warrants out of Monte Vista Police Department and Alamosa Police Department.
Hope Atencio, 43, Monte Vista, was arrested and taken to the Rio Grande County Jail. She was booked into the jail on a list of charges to wit: Attempted vehicular homicide, DUI, DUI per se, Vehicle assault, Reckless Endangerment, Reckless Driving, Violation of a protection order, Domestic violence. This took place in the 1900 block of Sickles.
Old Sexual Assault which occurred in the 1990s reported from Colorado Springs Police Department. Suspect has been identified, under investigation.
Family disturbance in 800 block Lyell Street– parties separated
Celeste Valdez will be issued summons for trespassing at Family Dollar.

March 29
Juan Median, 28, Monte Vista, was arrested and charged with a list of crimes to wit: Harassment Violation of a protection order, Domestic Violence. This took place in in the 1200 block of Jackson St.
Officers responded to the 1000 block of Park Avenue for a theft.
Officers responded to the 700 block of 1st Avenue for a robbery.
At approximately 9 p.m., officers were advised of a verbal argument in the 2200 block of East Drive. Raymond Baroz, 47, Monte Vista, had left the scene but he is a suspect in a Domestic Violence that took place on scene.
March 30
Nacono Moquino, 32, Monte Vista was taken to Detox for causing a verbal disturbance at his mother’s residence. Moquino agreed to go to detox willingly to sober up.
Colorado license plate OQ J-369 was located on Highway 15 at approximately city limits. The owner has not been contacted at this time.
Officers responded to the 200 block of Jefferson for a harassment call.
