Monte Vista Kiwanis Club seeks donations

MONTE VISTA—Have you been spring cleaning? The Monte Vista Kiwanis Club is in need of donations for a benefit garage sale to be held on Saturday, June 16 at 236 Adams Street in Monte Vista from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The club will accept furniture, household items, tools, books, knick-knacks, dishes, Christmas and other holiday items, toys and any other donations except for clothing and electronics. Please call Janet and Don Noland at 852-5789 or Mary Baumfalk at -852-5778 for pick-up of items.
Proceeds will aid the club in providing funds for their 2018 signature projects: Chrome books for the Delta Center; assistance with items still required for the Faith Hinkley Veteran’s Memorial Park and educational items for the Sargent Early Center. Kiwanis members also put up the American flags on holidays and at Stampede, deliver treats to members and residents of the senior centers; provide dictionaries for third graders at Bill Metz Elementary, the Lutheran school and the Amish schools; provide scholarships to MVHS Key Club members and send Operation Christmas Child boxes for children in other countries.
The club appreciates the support of the citizens of Monte Vista and surrounding communities in their efforts in “Serving the children of the world.”
