MONTE VISTA — If you have driven through Monte Vista this week, you may have noticed that the Christmas decorations are up at many local residences and businesses. If you are looking for something fun to do with your friends and loved ones, there are many events going on this weekend.

Do you enjoy shopping locally? Are you looking for some unique gifts for your family and loved ones this year? Well, the Chamber of Commerce has been working hard putting together the Holiday Bazaar.

The Holiday Bazaar will feature many local vendors, with plenty of holiday gifts for sale, for you to choose from. The Holiday Bazaar will take place Friday, Dec. 3, from 12 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. inside the Church of the Nazarene gym, located at 1106 2nd Ave. in downtown Monte Vista.

After attending the Bazaar on Saturday, head over to Fullenwider Park to enjoy Monte Vista’s annual Christmas Celebration, kicking off with the Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:15 p.m. There will also be singing with carolers, and the Parade of Lights will be held on Adams Street at 6 p.m.

Are your children excited about Christmas? Have you heard the little ones talking about Santa? Well, Santa Clause heard about this Christmas celebration and he will be on Adams Street, at RainBrews. Bring the kids down to meet Santa, and enjoy a hot drink and a cookie.

Monte Vista’s theme for the parade and decorated businesses this year is Candyland. There are many businesses that have decorated their storefronts. Take a tour of the downtown businesses after you visit Santa.
