MONTE VISTA— The Monte Vista Co-op held there 16th Annual Progressive Agricultural Safety Day on April 26.
Twelve Valley public schools and two Valley home schools participated with a total of 324 students, 35 teachers/bus drivers and 54 volunteers.  
Safety topics presented this year included four-wheeler/helmet safety presented by 4H and FFA students, chemical look-a-likes presented by 4H and FFA students, home alone/stranger danger presented by Del Norte Police Department, electric safety presented by San Luis Valley Rural Electric, safe digging presented by Colorado 811, lawn equipment safety presented by Monte Vista Coop/4H and FFA students, grain safety presented by 4H and FFA students, roadway safety presented by Colorado State Patrol and Fire Safety presented by Monte Vista Fire Department.  
The Monte Vista Co-op would like thank all the presenters for the continued support and participation. Without them, this event would not be possible. The Co-op would also like to thank the coordinators for their hard work and dedication in putting together the safety day event: Nancy Sechrist, Denise Temple, Trish Archuleta, Jeanett Wacker and Joann Aguilar.
