MONTE VISTA — LeDoux and McCreery put on a great show at the Ski-Hi Stampede kickoff concert Thursday, July 22, in front of a packed house at Ski Hi Park in Monte Vista. Each played for an hour. LeDoux played his original songs and some that his father, Chris, made famous. McCreery wowed the crowd with some songs off his new album that was released Thursday, July 22.
Thursday marked the first use of the newly constructed events center at Ski Hi Park as the Chuckwagon at Stampede sponsored by the Rotary Club of Monte was held inside the spacious venue. Monte Vista High School football players helped with cleanup afterward and helped in the transition between LeDoux and McCreery, moving equipment on and off the stage during the intermission.
Following the concert, Shotgun Jefferson played live at the dance inside the new center.
The 99th Stampede continues over the next three days, highlighted by PRCA action and the parade on Saturday in downtown Monte Vista.
