Creede Sculpture Show to feature work by Huberto Maestas

CREEDE— The Creede Arts Council (CAC) hosts the Creede Sculpture Show at Basham Park in Creede. The public is invited to both the preview and award Presentation on Thursday, July 25 at 5 p.m. and the opening party on Friday, July 26 at 3 p.m.
This year’s show includes nine accomplished sculptors from Colorado and New Mexico who will be showcasing their work. Visit the exhibit on July 26 and 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sculptures will be on display and available for purchase.
CAC is proud to have Huberto Maestas as this year’s judge who will also be displaying his work. Maestas created sculptures for the “Stations of the Cross Shrine” in San Luis, which reveal his passion for his work. The public is invited to a presentation by Maestas on Saturday, July 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Creede Community Church.
Sculptors at the year’s show include Maria Battista, Kylene Blossom, Wesley Blossom, Bob Booth, Amyas Maestas, Aubin Maestas, Bianca Maestas, Dan Mead and Glen Smith.
Pieces in this year’s show cover a wide range of subject matter, media and size. The sculptures displayed this year are thought-provoking, creative and beyond imagination. All events are free and open to the public. For more information please see www.creedeartscouncil.com.
