Artists open their studios for Silver Thread Studio Tour

SAN LUIS VALLEY— The Creede Arts Council (CAC), and area artists are proud to present the 15th Annual Silver Thread Studio Tour on Saturday, Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Discover the artists of South Fork and Creede as they open their studios to friends, old and new. Take a self-guided driving tour along the beautiful Silver Thread Scenic Byway surrounded by the Rio Grande National Forest. Artist studios are located from South Fork through historic Creede and along the route towards the Studios at Bristol. Local artists will welcome participants into their home studios and galleries, where they will answer questions, share techniques, perform demonstrations and showcase a variety of works available for purchase.

The Silver Thread Studio Tour will have 18 participating artists this year. The offerings include fiber arts, quilts, ceramics, wood, blacksmithing, photography, jewelry, paintings, sculptures and fused glass. Many of the artists have national and international recognition in their respective fields.

Map brochures will be available at the Mineral County/Creede Chamber of Commerce in, The Studios at Bristol and the Visitors Center in South Fork. The map brochure can also be printed from the CAC website at www.creedeartscouncil.com.
