HAMILTON, Ga.—Shane Heady, 42, of Hamilton, Ga. died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 in Harris County.
Memorial services for Heady were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 at the Mountain Shadows Community Church in Hamilton with Fire and EMS Honors.
Shane was born July 19, 1970 in Fort Worth, Texas the son of J. R. and Lana Heady. He most recently served as Chief of Meriwether County Fire and EMS and was a former Paramedic/Firefighter with the Harris County EMS and the Columbus Fire/EMS. Shane started his career in public service with the Conejos Sheriff and EMS Department in Conejos County. He was a member of the Mountain Shadows Community Church in Hamilton, GA.
He is survived by his wife Kay Heady of Hamilton; mother and father: J. R. and Lana Heady of St. George Island, Fla.; paternal grandmother: Lucille Heady of Dauphin Island, Ala.; sisters Kim (Blaine) Waller of League City, Texas and Shawna (Kyle) Thompson of Petersburg, Texas nieces and nephews: Ryan Waller, Jacob Waller, Ben Waller all of League City, Texas, Corey (Kristi)and Paisley Thompson, Lacey (Jake)Cline; mother and father-in-law: Bo and Thelma Cannington of Morris, Ga.; brother-in-law: Charlton (Bonnie) Cannington of Morris, Ga.; sister-in-law: Terry (Bobby) Lane of Omaha, Ga.; nephews Mac Lane of Omaha and Charlie Cannington of Morris, Ga.; niece: Katie (Jeremy) Hopper of Eufaula, Ala. and “The Boys” of Hamilton.
Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers contributions may be given in memory of Shane Heady to the Humane Society of Harris County at any C B and T Bank or First Peoples Banks.
