MONTE VISTA—Monte Vista resident Robert N. Gonzales, 77, passed away on Dec. 30, 2012 under hospice care surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born on July 18, 1935 in Monte Vista, the son of Eufemio Gonzales and Frances Quintana.
Robert was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who enjoyed watching, playing and coaching his boys on the Crazy 10’s softball team, an avid Broncos, and Rockies fan and above all the time he spent with his loving family, friends and grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons Andrew (Cindy) Gonzales of Pagosa Springs, Colo; Robbie Gonzales of Pueblo; Kent (Lynn) Gonzales, Wally (Racael) Gonzales both of Monte Vista; grandchildren Wendy Gonzalez, Tammy and Miranda Gonzales, Robert, Brenden and Derrick Anderson, Nico, Stephanie and Jessie Gonzales, Tony Medina and Eliana Sanchez, nine great-grandchildren, one brother Manuel (Nora) Gonzales, one sister Mary Garcia. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife Betty R. Gonzales, parents Eufemio and Frances Gonzales, brothers Felix and Joe Gonzales, sisters Jennie Pacheco and Lupita Maes.
Cremation was chosen and a Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2012 at 7 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monte Vista. A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2012 at 10 a.m. also at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are in care of Romero Funeral Home of Monte Vista.
