Sargent first grader celebrates birthday by helping pets

For her birthday, Tori Hill, a first grader at Sargent Elementary, wished all her friends would donate to Conour Animal Shelter. She mentioned it to Principal John Pavlicek who made it into a competition amongst the elementary school students and, on Nov. 1, Mrs. Castillo’s first grade class delivered hundreds of dollars worth of essentials to the shelter.
