MONTE VISTA— Interim Monte Vista Police Chief Jim Grayson has announced that, on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Monte Vista Police Department will be participating in the national Drug Takeback program, sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Anyone wishing to dispose of outdated or unneeded medication can drop these items off at the Monte Vista Police Department, 95 West 1st Avenue, Monte Vista.
These items will be safely disposed of in a manner that will keep both other people and the environment safe. In addition to the Drug Takeback program, officers from the Monte Vista Police Department will also be working in conjunction with the Colorado State Patrol in conducting a child car seat inspection during this same time.
Those individuals transporting small children are encouraged to make sure the child safety seat equipment in their car is installed correctly and meets the needs of protecting the child.
