MONTE VISTA—Gayla Dawn (Smith) Clark, born May 12, 1965 in Denver, passed away on February 3, 2014 in Monte Vista.
Gayla was raised in Westminster, Colo. and graduated from Westminster High School. She later moved to Mesa, Ariz., then in 2003 to Monte Vista. She was the loving mother of five children Dustin Guttropf, Paul Clark, Cherish Clark, Cory Clark and Danielle Clark.
She will be affectionately remembered by her birth-father John (Linda Schoonhoven) Noffsker, her sister Jodean (Fred) Cooper, brother Curtis (Diana) Smith, nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
She held God very close to her heart. She had a passion towards real estate and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and had a special affinity and love for animals of all kinds. Working on her birth-father’s ranch with the animals gave her great happiness. Gayla and her free spirit were the delight of her parents Donald D. Smith and Mary Lee Wilson-Smith and family. She always believed that all creatures had a good soul, they just needed time, compassion and understanding to bring it forward.
Her service will be held Saturday, Feb. 15 at the First Presbyterian Church, 705 2nd Ave. (2nd and Broadway), Monte Vista with a luncheon to follow at the church. Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made to her favorite shelter Conour Animal Shelter at SLVAnimalShelter.com.
