COLORADO SPRINGS—Del Norte resident Jamie Renee Burnett, 20, died April 19, 2013 at her home in Colorado Springs.
Jamie was born in Alamosa on May 21, 1992 the daughter to Skip D. Burnett and Shelly Marie Fuchs Burnett.
Jamie graduated from the Del Norte High School with honors and attended Arizona State University for a time and was working toward her degree at the University of Colorado Springs.
Jamie enjoyed listening to music and she loved to talk. She also enjoyed playing volleyball and spending time with friends and family. She had a soft spot for animals.
She is survived by her parents Skip and Shelly Burnett of Del Norte; her sister Candice (Jermaine Leavell) Collins of Colorado Springs, her brother Corey Larson of Chelmsford, Mass.; her paternal grandmother Jesse James of Del Norte; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Her paternal grandfather Herb Burnett, her maternal grandparents Harley and Leona Fuchs all preceded her in death.
A Visitation will be held at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 23. A Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at the Gateway Church, 975 Grande Ave. in Del Norte. Cremation will follow services. Contributions in Jamie’s memory are suggested to the Conour SLV Animal Shelter and may be made through the funeral home office.
