MONTE VISTA–Longtime Monte Vista resident Betty L. Deacon, 90, died Jan. 1, 2013 at the Colorado State Veterans Center at Homelake.
Betty was born in Strong City, Okla. one of four children to I.J. and Money Lovelace Roberts. She married her husband Warren G. “Hoot” Deacon on Jan. 1, 1951 in Alamosa.
Betty was a homemaker and loved being with her family. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing. Most of all she enjoyed passing time watching television, and especially watching the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos.
Betty is survived by her children Max (Karen) Deacon of Monte Vista, Mike (Vickie) Deacon of Eagle, Colo. and Tracy (David) Price of Phoenix, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Her parents, two sisters, one brother and her daughter Karen David all preceded her in death.
A funeral service was held Friday, Jan. 4 at the Rogers Family Mortuary Chapel in Monte Vista. Interment followed services in the Monte Vista Cemetery.
