DELTA — Carolee (Hoch) Burnett, 83, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at the Sunrise Adult Day Care in Delta, Colo.
She was born on Nov. 16, 1929 in Montrose, Colo. to Onel Ralph and Mabel Justina (Caddy) Hoch and attended Montrose public schools until the 10th grade. She graduated high school in Del Norte,
On Dec. 22, 1946, Carolee married James Wilbur Burnett in Del Norte. A son and daughter were born to this union. Carolee and James celebrated more than 49 years of love and marriage.
Carolee was employed as a clerk and typist in the U. S. Department of Agriculture
She enjoyed reading, puzzles, sewing, crocheting and knitting. More importantly, she loved and cherished her family.
Her husband and her brother, Richard Hoch, preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Richard James Burnett of Cedaredge, Colo.; a daughter, Donna Kay (Scott) Keadle of Eckert, Colo.; five grandchildren, Capt. Jacob Richard (Chanda) Dressel, Richard James (Laura) Burnett Jr., Joseph Jay (Lynda) Dressel, Tammy Jo Burnett, Robert Jay (Melissa) Burnett; and seven great-grandchildren, Alex Dressel, Marissa (Nicki) Dressel, Eric Dressel, Nathaniel Mason, Seth Burnett, Ethan Dressel and Erica Dressel.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
