COLORADO SPRINGS — Johnathan Albert Schmidt, 27, of Colorado Springs, died Sept. 27, 2012.

He was born Feb.12, 1985 in Alamosa, Colo., the oldest son of Larry and Carrie Schmidt.

Survivors include his mother, Carrie Schmidt (John Garamendi) Florissant, Colo.; his father, Larry (Audrey), Schmidt, La Jara, Colo.; siblings, nieces and nephews, Corey Gibson (Alice Ryan), Gladewater, Texas, Joshua Tirrell, Alamosa, Brandy Schmidt (Tavian), San Diego, Calif., Rebekah Lucero (Alexys), Alamosa, Jason Schmidt (Stephanie, Bailey, Johnny, Diesel, Chloe), Alamosa, Willa Schmidt, La Jara and Annie Norris (Quinten, Zoey), Manassa; his grandparents, Louis & Jerry Schmidt of Monte Vista, and Kent & Vera Ann Shawcroft of La Jara. He will be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as by many friends in the San Luis Valley, San Diego and Colorado Springs.

There will be an open-house memorial gathering to celebrate his life from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Monte Vista Golf Course clubhouse. All who wish to attend are welcome.
