SOUTH FORK— Val J. Potter, 56, died Friday Sept. 14, 2012, at the Rio Grande Hospital in Del Norte, Colo.
She was born July 6, 1956 and raised in Grand Island, Neb., the daughter of Macyle “Le” Shepherd of South Fork and the late Richard G. Decker of Grand Island.
Her father, maternal and paternal grandparents preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Susan Miller, Gary (Cheri) Engle and Joshua (Nichole) Engle, all of Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Marvin (Jill) Decker of Hiram, Ohio, Barry (Robyn) Decker of Grand Island; one sister, Annette (Dan) Waetzig, Garden City; her mother, Macyle “Le” Shepherd and step-father Wayne Jefferson of South Fork, Colo.; four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held at The Chapel of the South Fork on Monday, Sept. 17. Burial will be in Wood River, Neb. on Saturday, Sept. 22.
