HUGHSON, Calif. — Lucile Clennin McNitt, 97, died Aug. 25, 2012 in Hughson.
She was born on April 30, 1915 in Tulia, Texas to Richard and Elsie Clennin.
Lucile married Bob McNitt on Jan. 1, 1937. He preceded her in death in October 2009.
Lucile and Bob lived in the Valley from 1948-2005. She taught school at Sargent for 13 years and was active in the Sargent Community Church.
She was a Sunday school teacher and a 4-H leader.
Lucile loved her family and friends. She loved to entertain and host houseguests. She loved to travel, work in the garden, cooking and going fishing at Santa Maria. Lucille really loved life and she will be greatly missed by her family and her many precious friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, her stepmother, Mary Dorcas Clennin, her sister, Marie Whitlow and her brother, Richard Clennin, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three children, Margaret Ann (Dale) Wolfe of Oakdale, Calif. Dick (Alana) McNitt of Monte Vista, Colo. and Martin (Dolores)McNitt of Carbondale, Ill. Seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Lucile`s life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the Sargent Community Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sargent Community Church or to acharity of choice.
