MONTE VISTA — Jay Marquez, 50, Monte Vista died June 18, 2012 at his home.
He was born April 26, 1962 in Lincoln, Neb., to Juan and Angie Marquez, the second child of six.
Jay loved and lived for his family, which included his four children, Santana Brewer, Matthew Marquez, Douglas Marquez, and Sydney Marquez; his grandchildren, Sunny Brewer and Lilli Marquez; his son-in-law, Cory Brewer and his daughter-in-law, Monique Gallegos; and his friend and mother of his four children, Lisa Marquez.
Jay served in the United States Air Force from August 1981 until retirement in May 1994 and was a successful truck broker for many years. Jay was a lovable person and carried a smile that warmed your heart and had a laugh that was contagious. You could always count on him for a good joke and hug. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his granddaughter, fishing, camping, listening to country music, and rooting for his Denver Broncos.
Jay is preceded in death by his grandparents, Tony and Angie Rivera; aunts, Betty Gonzalez and Sara Lozoya.
In addition to his children, he is survived by his parents, Juan “Pappy” and Angie Marquez; sisters, Cecilia Vigil and Wanda (Patrick) Marquez of Monte Vista and Shannon Marquez of Colorado Springs; brothers, John (Patty) Marquez, Scott (Berdi) Marquez and Duane (Cameo) Marquez, all of Monte Vista; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be no memorial services.
