CENTER — Edward Isidoro Garcia, 80, of Center, died surrounded by his loving family on Feb. 26, 2010 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center in Alamosa.
He was born April 4, 1929 in Tres Piedras, N.M. to Fulgencio and Senovia Trujillo Garcia, and was united in marriage to Esther O. Gonzales on April 19, 1949 in Taos, N.M.
Edward was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, fishing, hunting and spending time with his children, grandchildren and family.
His parents; son, Ronnie Garcia; and brothers, Andrew “Tano” and Pilar Garcia, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife Esther O. Garcia of the family home in Center; two daughters, Norma (Henry) Martinez of Center and Shirley Garcia of Alamosa; one son, Edward (LorieAnn) Garcia of Center; daughter-in-law Anita Lichliter of Pueblo; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Loyda (Robert) Maez of Center, Elva (Salvador) Rivas of Clifton, Colo. and Mary Duran of Center; brothers, Harold (Helen) Garcia of Pico Rivera, Calif. and Jose (Maida) Garcia of Clifton, as well as by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Friday, March 5 at the Center Assembly of God Church. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at the River of Life Assembly of God Church in Alamosa, with burial following in the Alamosa Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be held from 1 until 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Romero Funeral Home in Alamosa, which is directing arrangements.
