MONTE VISTA — Ida Cordova, 70, of Monte Vista died Jan. 31, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 18, 1939 in La Garita to Louis and Mary T. Archuleta Atencio, and was united in marriage to Francisco Cordova on May 14, 1960 in Center.

Ida was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Monte Vista and St. Joseph Choir. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening, traveling and spending time with her loving family.

Her parents; two brothers, Eloy Archuleta and Lawrence Atencio; and one sister, Charlotte Wilson, precede her in death.

Survivors include her husband Frank Cordova of Monte Vista; two daughters, Shirley Martinez, Monte Vista and Cyndee Renee (Nestor) Guerrero of Las Vegas, Nev.; one son, Gary (Doreen) Cordova of Pueblo; grandchildren, Daniel Medina, Vicki Gonzales, Roberto Guerrero and Anthony Guerrero; great-grandchildren, Sonya, Juanito and Christopher Gonzales; four sisters, Genevieve Gallegos of Monte Vista, Bertha (Jerry) McMinn of Colorado Springs, Louise (Norman) Offineer of Clifton and Kris Terrell of Colorado Springs; one brother, Donald (Beatrice) Atencio of Monte Vista; her aunt who was like a mother to her, Lupita Lujan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Romero Funeral Chapel in Monte Vista. Another will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at St. Joseph Church in Monte Vista.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at the same church and burial will follow in the Alamosa Cemetery.

Viewing and visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Romero Funeral Home in Monte Vista, which is directing the arrangements.
