ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Long time Alamosa resident Wendy Lynn Cox, 31, died Jan. 22, 2010. 

She was born on March 7, 1978 in Alamosa to Lennie McColm  and Andy Martinez.  On April 15, 1995 she married the love of her life, Mike Cox, in  Alamosa. 

Wendy blessed her family with three beautiful children, Dyllan (14), Melanie (10) and Trevan “TJ” (7). 

She owned and operated Dust Busters cleaning service in Alamosa for three years and most recently worked in the Child Support Division of the Alamosa County Department of Social Services.

Wendy was truly devoted to her friends and most of all her family.  She loved the outdoors, enjoyed shopping and was very passionate about law. She was six months shy of obtaining her bachelor’s degree in law, but above all things, she loved being with her family. 

Her father, Andy Martinez; her sister, Ammie Martinez; her nephew, Ethan Martinez; and her grandparents, Jessie Shockey, Owen McColm, Joe Martinez and Garland McArthur, preceded her in death. 

Survivors include her husband, Michael; her three beautiful children, Dyllan, Melanie and Trevan, all of Alamosa; her mother, Lennie McColm and dad, Ron Goodman both of Alamosa; her father-in-law, Phil Cox of Indiana; grandmother, Eva Martinez of Denver; grandmother-in-law Juanita McArthur of Mesita; sisters, Ashley Martinez of Florence, Ronnie Goodman of Colorado Springs and  Charlotte Dalton of Missouri; brothers, Travis Goodman of Los Angeles, Calif., Todd Goodman (Jamie) of Vancouver, Wash. and Steve Goodman of Missouri, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Alamosa Presbyterian Church. 

A visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa.  Burial will be in the Alamosa Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Rogers Family Mortuary in Alamosa.
