ASPCA helps dogs find homes

Modified: Wednesday, Oct 30th, 2013

MONTE VISTA—The Upper Rio Grande Animal Society, operator of the Conour Animal Shelter is pleased to announce that an “Animal Relocation Program” was recently made possible through a generous grant from The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in the amount of $5,000.

Homeless pets arrive at the Conour Animal Shelter, Monte Vista, frequently as a result of the economic downturn and others that are lost or abandoned by their owners. Some are reclaimed by their owners, but many end up living at the shelter until they are adopted or transported. These grant funds helped to assist in impacting these animals by making it possible for 100 dogs/puppies to be transported to other shelters/rescues to find a loving forever home.
