Commissioners enjoy lighter agenda

DEL NORTE-- Rio Grande County Road and Bridge Supervisor Pat Sullivan gave the commissioners his monthly update at last week's meeting (Wednesday, Aug.13).

Mountain King facing EEOC lawsuit

DENVER--Mountain King Potatoes, the name under which Smokin' Spuds, Inc. and Farming Technology, Inc., operate a potato warehouse in Monte Vista, created a hostile work environment by allowing managers to sexually harass female employees, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charged in a lawsuit it filed Friday, according to a press release.

Communications tower approved

DEL NORTE, A proposal by Jade Communications (gojade.org) and owner Alan Wehe to replace the existing 70' telecommunications tower with a 180' tower at the location of the Monte Vista Co-op was approved by the Rio Grande County Commissioners at the meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 6.
