ADEL NORTE -- Issues of enforcement concerned the Rio Grande County Commissioners during their Sept. 1 meeting.
County Land Use Planner Rose Vanderpool questioned the county's guidelines for utilizing alternative energies. "We need to either place a moratorium on alternative energy resources or find some reasonable guidelines in the event someone is interested in utilizing alternative energy generators."

Street Sale Daze, Potato Festival on their way

MONTE VISTA -- The Monte Vista Merchants will host Street Sale Daze from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11. Adams Street will be blocked off between First and Second Street and merchants and vendors will be outside offering bargains, food and fun.

Schools adjust to 4-day week
