ALAMOSA -- Two Center women were killed in a car-semi truck crash on U.S. Highway 160 between Alamosa and Monte Vista at 4:42 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, according to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP).

DEL NORTE -- It may be a while before the investigation into the death of Dennis Pacheco, 29, Del Norte, is complete, Rio Grande County Sheriff Brian Norton said Monday.
Not backing away from the suspicious aspects of the death, Norton said, "We're investigating it, but haven't got the autopsy back yet."

DEL NORTE -- Vernon Braun, 71, was in Rio Grande District Court last Wednesday for a pretrial conference on perjury charges in connection with the January 2002 disappearance and death of Danice Day.
Defense Attorney David Lipke advised District Judge Martin Gonzales that Braun had suffered several serious strokes and he needed time to review the medical records.
