Closed and locked playgrounds upset parents

MONTE VISTA-- A sign hangs on a Bill Metz Elementary fence, "the playground will be closed evenings and weekends due to vandalism."
School playgrounds in Monte Vista that were paid for in whole or in part with grants from Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) have been closed due to vandalism or maintenance according to signs posted on the entrance gates.

MONTE VISTA, Police officer Wil Pena started off the meeting at the information/visitor center on Thursday, July 10, thanking everyone for coming and saying the main purpose of the gathering was to bring all the current block captains up to date and make sure everyone was on the same page. There were more than 50 people attending the meeting.
